This Halloween, the Aquarium-Museum and the Maison de la Science invite you to a place unlike any other… Welcome to La Foire de l’Étrange! 

Step inside the big top and let yourself be swept away by the mysterious atmosphere of^19th-century carnival fairs. With astonishing acts, acrobats, magicians, fortune-tellers, vintage games, and scientific curiosities, get ready for an experience where science meets the strange and where every corner holds a surprise. 

A cabinet of curiosities like no other 

At the heart of the Fair, a strange cabinet awaits you. Astonishing specimens, unusual objects, and surprising stories invite you to look at scientific collections in a whole new light. 

Keep your eyes peeled: here, curiosity is your best ally. Will you be able to spot the details, see past appearances, and discover what lies behind some of these mysterious curiosities? 

Games and Fun from Days Gone By 

At the flower-adorned open-air café, step into a different world and let yourself be tempted by vintage games. Young and old alike can discover the fun of days gone by and share a playful moment with the family. 

A Timeless Adventure 

Even the most adventurous visitors will have a mission to complete. 

Clues and riddles await them throughout the various areas of the Fair. You’ll need keen observation skills, logical thinking, and a bit of wit to make progress and complete the course. Above all, keep your eyes peeled: every clue could bring you closer to the solution… or lead you down the wrong path! 

The youngest visitors have a role to play 

They’ll be able to let their creativity run wild during a craft workshop and make a little souvenir to take home. 

And at the Maison de la Science…

Beneath its colorful lights and cheerful atmosphere, something isn’t quite right at the Maison de la Science.

In a free-roaming, immersive experience, it’s up to you to investigate! Explore the fair, meet the carnival workers who live there, take on their challenges, and gather clues that will help you discover which one of them is making visitors disappear around the corners of the carnival wagons.

And to round out this experience, the Maison de la Science will also offer two themed activities and storytelling sessions, held regularly throughout the day.

A Fair to Discover… and Experience! 

The Foire de l’Étrange is a Halloween outing for the whole family: curiosities to observe, games to try, puzzles to solve, and stories to discover. 

At both the Aquarium-Museum and the Maison de la Science, science blends with play and imagination to offer you an experience that’s as fun as it is educational.

So, are you ready to step through the doors of the Fair? 

Information 

• Suitable for all ages, but recommended for ages 6 and up to fully enjoy the activities. 
• No reservation required. 
• The Planetarium in its traditional format, the “Unbreakable” exhibition, the Botanical Galleries (home to the “Liège with an Open Heart” exhibition), and the Evolution Galleries are not open during the Halloween event.

For this year’s Halloween event, the cabinet of curiosities was designed in collaboration with the “ ” (Museum and Cultural Center) , the “” (University of Liège). 

  Please note: On the ^first Sunday of the month, admission is free at (reservation required at). No activities or games are offered on that day.

The Aquarium-Museum will be closed on October 16 and November 3, 2026.
The Maison de la Science will be closed on October 16 and 17, as well as November 3 and 4, 2026.
