Parking
Four private parking spaces are available at the front of the building. These spaces are reserved exclusively for visitors with reduced mobility (PRM) to the museum areas (Aquarium-Muséum Universitaire de Liège, Maison de la Science, Pôle Muséal & Culturel) and for users with reduced mobility of the Zoological Institute building. A valid disabled parking card must be clearly displayed.
Entrance
To the right of the main entrance, a side door at pavement and car park level allows visitors with reduced mobility to enter the institution without any problem and to make their way easily to the large lift that will take them up to the Aquarium-Muséum.
How do I get there?
Either you are unaccompanied:
A parking space is strictly reserved for people with reduced mobility: it is located right next to this side entrance. Ring the bell at this entrance: reception staff will be alerted to your presence, come and open the door for you and escort you to the lift.
Or you are accompanied:
The accompanying person is invited to go to the Aquarium-Muséum reception desk via the main entrance. At his/her request, a receptionist will open the side door and escort you to the lift.
Access for animals: only assistance dogs are admitted
To protect the welfare of the animals in our collections, the health and safety of our facilities and the comfort of all our visitors, access to the Aquarium-Muséum Universitaire de Liège (AqMu) is prohibited to all animals, without exception, other than assistance dogs, in accordance with the Walloon Code of Social Action and Health.
An assistance dog is any trained dog that accompanies persons with disabilities in their movements and daily-life activities, or that is being trained with an instructor or raised in a foster-family environment supervised by an instructor or an association.
To be admitted, the assistance dog must wear the harness, vest or distinctive signage provided for that purpose. Its handler must be able to show, on request from reception staff, the passport or certificate that establishes the dog's status. For a dog in training, this document is issued by the responsible association or instructor. Assistance dogs are admitted free of charge to all areas open to the public. The dog must remain under its handler's constant control, at their side, and must not approach the glass, tanks or display cases.
All other animals are refused: pet dogs, but also cats, birds, rodents, reptiles, fish or any other animal, regardless of size, species, behaviour or means of transport (on a leash, carried, in a bag, in a cage or in a crate). No exceptions are granted. This exclusion applies in particular to emotional-support, comfort, companion and therapy animals, dogs included. It cannot be waived by a vest, a medical certificate, an online certificate or an explanation.
We have no holding area for animals. Visitors accompanied by an animal are asked to arrange care for it before their visit. Staff are authorised to refuse entry to anyone who does not comply with these conditions.
