Activities PECA
Introduction to the Marine World
A fun, hands-on experience designed for kindergarten andfirst-grade classes. An introduction to the aquatic world—completely free for schools in the PECA zone of Liège.
The activity in detail
- Preparation in the classroom
A few days before the visit, the teacher prepares the students for the experience. They are also invited to contact our educator to tailor the activity to the class’s specific needs and, if desired, play an active role during the visit. - A reserved area in the aquarium
During the visit, access to one of the aquarium’s rooms is partially reserved for the group for the entire duration of the activity—creating a welcoming “cocoon” for the youngest children. - The giant octopus comes to life
At the heart of the activity, a modular mat shaped like an octopus serves as a transitional object and a playful prop. The children set off to explore the marine world—its shapes and colors—guided by accompanying music that stimulates the senses and encourages movement. - A facilitator to guide the experience
Throughout the visit, our science facilitator accompanies the group to lead activities, guide the children, and answer their questions.
